5 Ways to Stay Motivated

Alright. Let's be honest. Do you enjoy working out? Yes that right, do you actually enjoy working out? If your answer was anything but YES! then get ready because you'll be moving before you know it - and enjoying it too!

1. No gym? No problem.
You do not need a treadmill to be fit. You do not need machines to be toned. In fact, if you can't afford a gym membership, don't sweat it! { no pun intended } Working out in your room, backyard, or even the park can be just as effective as going to the gym. Try doing a circuit workout in the comfort of your own home!

2. No time? No excuses!
Do you have 10 minutes in your day? I bet you do. Cut social media scrolling or that few minutes of TV and squeeze in a fast, effective HIIT workout. Choose a high volume workout move. For example, jump squats, burpees, tuck jumps, etc... Once you pick your move, do as many reps as possible for 30 seconds, then rest for 30 seconds. Repeat this 10 times and you will BLAST calories & have that post workout glow in a matter of minutes. Give it a try!

3. Hate Morning Workouts?
I'm not sure whoever came up with the idea that you HAVE to workout in the morning. Any workout at any time of the day is going to be beneficial. I use to get stressed out if I couldn't get my workout done in the AM. Well never fear, night workouts are here! I love taking an evening spin class to get moving. Don't let the lie of the "morning workout" paralyze you for the rest of the day. Get up and go no matter what time of day it is.

4. Forgot your Music?
We've all been there. You get to the gym and the worst happens. You. Forgot. Your. Headphones. What now? Drive back home? No way! Let's talk this through. Literally. Talk yourself through your workout. You'd be surprised that the voice inside of your head will push you harder than any upbeat workout tune can. When you're doing those lunges remind your legs that they are strong! Look at yourself in the mirror while doing those pushups and tell yourself to "push through!" Sometimes we can focus on music too much during our workouts. Use those times when you forget your headphones at home, to turn up the voice in your head!

5. "I'm Just Not a Workout Person"
Here's a tip: You don't need to love fitness to be fit. I know, I know. Shocker. Let me let you in on a secret: stop telling yourself you hate working out. The body achieves what the mind believes. If you're saying to yourself "I HATE THIS!" then it's time to take a different approach. What do you hate? Do you hate sitting on a stationary bike for an hour? Do you hate treadmills? Just don't like the gym atmosphere? Shake it up! Try going for a long walk in your town or city and getting really familiar with your area. Walking is a secret fat burning workout. Don't forget hiking, biking, swimming, etc... You don't have to be a 'workout person' to workout. Get goin' girl!
